BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

My scientific and research activity mainly concerns:
- changes and variability of river outflow from Poland,
- spatial and temporal variability of the efficiency and physicochemical properties of spring waters in various regions of Poland,
- low tides and extreme phenomena (floods and droughts),
- water circulation in areas with varying degrees of urbanization,
- the role of water in the urban landscape of Łódź.

INTERESTS

Scientific and research interests: hydrology, water management, application of computer techniques in physical geography, hydroinformatics, water circulation in urban and suburban areas, water resources in Poland and in the world, temporal and spatial variability of river outflows, extreme hydrological phenomena (droughts and floods) , runoff modeling, historical changes in the water cycle in Łódź and the region.

Other interests: mineralogy, travel, history of Łódź and the region.

ACHIEVEMENTS

I am the author or co-author of 4 books and about 80 scientific articles.So far, in the field of geography, I have conducted both classes and lectures on very diverse topics (hydrology, water management, physical geography of Poland and the world, computer science, GIS, etc.). Under my supervision, 33 bachelor's and 17 master's theses were written. I am also the author of numerous maps in atlases, an academic textbook and popular science articles addressed to students, teachers and a wider audience.
