About us
The Institute of Psychology is a research and teaching unit within the Faculty of Educational Sciences at the University of Łódź.
We educate psychologists through a unified Master's degree programme in Psychology.
Currently, our students can choose between full-time and part-time studies in three specializations:
- Family and Close Relationships Psychology
- Health and Clinical Psychology
- Business and Career Psychology
Thanks to the Institute's EuroPsy European Certificate, our students receive professional training that enables them to enter the European labour market.
We also offer postgraduate programmes in Psychology in Business and Educational Psychology with Teacher Training Preparation.
Ambitious and highly motivated students have the opportunity to engage in the activities of various student scientific societies, including the Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology Society, the Psychosexuality Society, and the “Profil” Student Career Office. Their enthusiasm and commitment to community service can also be pursued through the Polish Association of Psychology Students and Graduates.
The Institute of Psychology consists of five departments:
- Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychopathology
- Department of Work, Organizational, and Career Counseling Psychology
- Department of Health Psychology
- Department of Psychology of Relationships and Interpersonal Diversity
- Department of Personality Psychology and Psychological Interventions
The Faculty of Educational Sciences, which includes the Institute of Psychology, is authorized to confer the doctoral degree in the discipline of psychology. Senior academic staff of the Institute also supervise doctoral candidates within the Doctoral School of Social Sciences.
We collaborate with numerous research centres worldwide, including Manchester Metropolitan University, University of Sunderland, Utrecht University, Justus Liebig University Giessen, University of York, and Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
The Institute of Psychology employs a team of 40 academic and teaching staff members. Faculty and students are supported by a four-person administrative team.
