Geomonitoring

Full-time study program comprises 1763 hours - apart from compulsory lectures and classes - 312 hours of optional coursework (in the third year), 108 hours of field work and 15 days (120 hours) of practical training.

The courses offered – apart from foundations of geography, cartography, statistics, economy and sociology – include:

  • environmental physics with elements of geophysics
  • dynamic and environmental geology, research methods in geodynamic processes
  • dynamic meteorology, climate monitoring, analytical techniques for atmospheric measurement, climate issues in economy and environmental protection
  • continental hydrology, oceanology and hydrology of Baltic See, hydrometry and hydrological measurement, hydrological professional evaluation and projects
  • dynamic geomorphology, documentation of lithospheric characteristics – thematic cartography
  • soil monitoring and protection, methods for soil analysis
  • hydrogeochemistry and research methods in hydrogeochemistry
  • reclamation of degraded lands
  • geostatistics
  • Geographical Information Systems (GIS), foundations of applied ecology, systems for environmental quality monitoring and control
  • legal foundations of environmental protection
  • landscape systems
